Eclampsia. It refers to a pregnancy-induced hypertension. Very dangerous.
Yesterday was our first day in ICU. And we met 7 patients in the ICU. It was really sad to see them lying on their beds with mechanical ventilators, IVs, trach-tube, and NGTs. We found out that CCU5 was in coma due to complications of eclampsia… and her baby died because of it. They have to induce delivery for her to survive. But… her status was already severe. I told my groupmates that I dont want her to be my assigned patient because I dont want to see her suffering for it will only make me cry.
Pero.. feeling ko.. God’s will ito. We were assigned to her. I was nervous. I felt so cold. First is that i haven’t experienced someone dying in front of me. Second, i don’t want to perform post-mortem care. *shivers* But what can i do? We have to do it. I have to do it.
