The 1st Brgy. Tibig Experience
filed under Uncategorized with

Hey guys! What’s up! I got back from Cavite yesterday. Yes! Fresh from Barangay Tibig, Silang, Cavite. We had our community exposure for 3 days and 2 nights. It was really tiring but it was a blast!

15 June, 1st day - I woke up at 4.15 am because I still have to pack my other things especially my medicines since I am a very sickly person. My dad and I left the house at exactly 5.15 am and I was like a bit worried since my group set 5.30 am as our call time in Mcdo in P. Campa. We arrived on P.Campa St at around 5.50am and I picked my groupmates up in Mcdo. I told them kase na my dad would take us to Park N Ride so that it wouldn’t be a hassle for us to commute or ride on a jeepney going to ParkNRide. Fastforward to Siang, Cavite. We arrived at Silang Proper at exactly 830 in the morning and our clinical instructors told us to eat breakfast first because they have to talk to the Rural Health Workers in Silang. The leaders went with the CIs to meet up with the RHWs. Btw, my clinical instructor looks lke Arnold Clavio and Johnser (my kaberks)! He told us that he’s not Arnold Clavio and we all laughed because we didnt expect that he’s going to tell it to us.

Fastforward to Barangay Tibig. Barangay Tibig is somewhat far from the city. That’s why we have to go on a 20 minute-trip to Tibig just to get there. We had our preconference and we were distributed to our foster families. Our foster parents are Councilor Majo and Nanay Terry who owns a carinderia in the Barangay. Thank God, we dont need to cook food since it’s available na. Tatay Majo told us to get on the jeep because he’ll take us to their house. And my goodness! I didn’t expect that it was really far! The roads were rocky and muddy and there were no street lights! rarr! Talk about liblib na lugar.

Our call time for our post con is 3pm and since Tatay Majo left us in their house, we have no choice but to walk from Sitio Ibayo to the Banrangay Health Center. We actually walked for almost 20 minutes.. that was so exhausting!

The day ended with laugh trips with my groupmates namely: Jaja, Rhea, Mark, Tatang Mark, Aldrich, Jef, Iris, Gianne, Trisha, Iris, Cris, and Princess. Princess missed our bonding moments because she got sick. I hope she’s okay now.

16 June, 2nd day - We had ocular inspection and we saw the houses in Ayala something. I forgot the whole name of that place. The houses were so huge and beautiful! Pangmayaman! So elite! ehehe!! We also saw Sharon Cuneta’s house. Actually, it’s the roof that we saw. It’s the house in her Globe commercial.

After the ocular inspection, we went back to Sitio Ibayo (where our house is at) and we started there our case finding. We have to look for a family with a member who has has a communicable disease. We reached almost 20-30 houses but we found nothing. We decided to eat our lunch at Nanay Terry and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without Mark’s hilarious jokes and punch lines. After the eating session, we went back to interviewing and case finding but still, we found no one. I was almost bitten by a dog! Thank God the owner of the house came immediately. We went back to the court to meet up with our groupmates. We learned that we only had 3 cases of communicable disease. Hayyy!! After some, group discussions, we joked around with our corniest jokes. Pacorny-han daw!

At exactly 6pm, we had our meeting with Brgy. Captain Luciano de Jesus and Councilor Mario. We introduced ourselves, told them our expectations from the community, ask their expections from us in return, discussed the scope and limitations of our activities in the community. After the small meeting, we were dismissed and Julia asked if we could go on a videoke session. Kapitan allowed us and so do our CIs! yey!!

At 830 pm, after our videoke session, we (Rhea, Jeff, Trisha, Aldrich and I) agreed to visit Mark in their foster family. We watched half of WWE in their house and of course, joke around again. At 9pm, I told them that we should leave since it’s getting late, and there are no Brgy Tanods on duty that night. Back at the carinderia, we saw the 3 guys we’re with in Sitio Ibayo. I was so touched because they waited for us. We went back to our house with frightening experience. Mia (our sister), scared Rhea, Trisha and Jaja. I wasn’t really scared of ghosts or any unordinary creatures. I was scared of insects or reptiles that would appear in front of me. Rarr. We retired at around 12pm.

17 June, 3rd day - We woke up at 6am and packed our things. We left the house at 720 since supposedly, the call time is 8am. We ate breakfast together and since the other groups weren’t around yet, we decided to sing again. Lol! We almost wake the people up with our morning songs! We left Tibig at 10am with smiles on our faces. Aww… I’ll miss Nanay Terry’s cookings. Di bale, on Thursday, we’ll be there again.

Hay.. That’s my kwento for now. I miss group30 na! I swear, I will really enjoy my last school year because of my group. I so love them!

Four college friends were so confident that the weekend before finals, they decided to go up to Dallas and party with some friends up there. They had a great time. However, after all the partying, they slept all day Sunday and didn’t make it back to Austin until early Monday morning.

Rather than taking the final then, they decided to find their professor after the final and explain to him why they missed it.

They explained that they had gone to Dallas for the weekend with the plan to come back and study but, unfortunately, they had a flat tire on the way back, didn’t have a spare, and couldn’t get help for a long time. As a result, they missed the final.

The Professor thought it over and then agreed they could make up the final the following day. The guys were elated and relieved.

They studied that night and went in the next day at the time the professor had told them. He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet, and told them to begin.

They looked at the first problem, worth 5 points. It was something simple about free radical formation. “Cool,” they thought at the same time, each one in his separate room. “This is going to be easy.”

Each finished the problem and then turned the page. On the second page was written:

    (For 95 points): Which tire?

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, “God, we’ve decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just go on and get lost?”

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man. After the scientist was done talking, God said, “Very well, how about this? Let’s say we have a man-making contest.” To which the scientist replied, “Okay, great!”

But, God added, “Now, we’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.”

The scientist said, “Sure, no problem” and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.

God looked at him and said, “No, no, no. You go get your own dirt.”
