25 days to go, and I am going to be officially TWEN-TEEN! Lol! Don’t greet me belated happy birthday guys! I haven’t turned twenty!
Anyways, I just got back from Cavite. It was so much fun. Our last week in Tibig was like a bakasyon-grande for us. On our first day, we only had our reporting about communicable diseases. Then after that, we went to the videoke-han, and sang for like four and a half hours. My throat was really itchy, maybe because kinareer ko ang pagkanta. Haha!! We went home late na kase nga we didn’t notice that our watches striked 8pm already.
On our second day, we visited our clients and had our health teaching at an early time. We decided to implement at an earilier time so that we can have enough time to prepare for our case presentation. Jef and I went to our client and asked the mother how she was doing because she told us last Wednesday that her daughter’s colds and cough was transferred to her. She told us that she’s feeling okay now so what we did was we just reminded her the promt treatment for coughs and colds to prevent cross-contamination. We went back to the stage and waited for our other groupmates. When we were partly complete, we decided to visit Nanay Oyang’s son’s wake. He died because of electric shock last June 25. Condolence to his family that he left.
When we were about to leave, Mark Housewife asked if we would still go to the river because on our way to the wake we were already planning to go there. One of the community people heard us and told us that it’s just near the place. So we turned and headed towards the river. 20 minutes of walking had already passed but no river appeared yet. The road was so muddy and rocky that I have to tip-toe to prevent my sneakers fom getting dirty. My tip-toe-ing was useless. My sneaks got muddy on its sides. Suddenly, I saw this hill and invited my groupmates to go there. They were hesitant at first but because I was craving for an adventure experience, I insited them. Hala, ayun, pumayag na din sila! It was like our first time to see a hill because we hurried to go up and screamed out of joy when we reached the top. The view up the hill was so beautiful! I lurve the green trees, and the cold wind whispering in our ears and telling us,”Welcome to paradise!” We took pictures and videos for remembrance. We were really exhausted but it didn’t really matter. What was important is that we enjoyed trekking.
After an hour, we went back to the stage to meet our other 3 groupmates who missed half of their life because they weren’t able to experience our adventure. Sayang! We ate lunch at Nanay Terry’s and headed back to work. We held our case presentation in the Health Center then after that, our CI’s let us go. Of course, we don’t have anything to do because everything is accomplshed, we went to the videoke-han again to sing our hearts out loud. We went home early because we don’t wanna wait for darkness to come and to scare us.
On the third day (that was kanina), we left Tibig at 9 am. Nanay Terry cried because she told us that she will really miss us. We took pictures before we left. Haayy… our 3-week community immersion is already done. I swear, I will really miss everything about it from the muddy roads to the hilarious and exhausting experience we had. On the other hand, I am thankful that we accomplished something and did something for the community. I hope they won’t forget us because I will surely won’t forget them too. *teary-eyed*
I’ll post the pics tomorrow. PLease do wait for it, ayt?!Btw, big thanks to the following people who commented on my previous entry: Kat, Kristin, Nheidean, Glamgalz, Rad, and Kym
