Just last week, I received my eligibiliy from California Board of Nursing. I was expecting it to arrive on our door step at around October or November because it says in their website that eligibility will be received after 4-6 months from the day you send your applications. Fortunately, I received it after three months. That’s amazing, right? God really listens to my prayers.
What is that eligibility for? If you received your eligibility, that means you passed their standards or requirements for that state you are applying to. And yes, I am glad that I am eligible to take the NCLEX-RN.
So the next step is you have to go to Pearson Vue website to register for the exam. I registered last Saturday and paid 200$ for the exam fee. After registering, I went to look for a schedule. I’ve heard from my friends that October and November slots are already filled up. I actually do not care about those months because I do not plan to take it on those months. Hey! I still need some preparations for this bigtime exam. Hehe!
Every time I select a date for an appointment, a pop-up window always appear and says, “You have to call the Pearson Vue to get this schedule.” Something like that. I forgot the exact terms used. I was actually surprised because I didn’t know I have to call Pearson Vue. (Don’t tell them I did not read the entire booklet! LOL) I failed to read that part. Silly me. Haha. I asked my friend about it and she said, “Oo, tatawag ka doon. Sa US ako tumawag. Nosebleed ito, Xy! Tawagin mo si Inday para sya na kumausap! Haha!” That was funny. I remember these jokes sent to me everyday where in Inday speaks in fluent English! Where the heck is Inday?!
This morning, after I received my ATT (Authorization To Test), I called Pearson Vue in Australia and scheduled for an exam. Since Inday was nowhere to be found (Haha!), I courageously talk to this Australian operator. Thank God I did not stutter while talking to him. I admit that there was an instance that I had to ask him to repeat what he said because first, the line is a bit choppy, second, my mom’s radio is on and she is listening to this radio show in DZBB and it is sooooo disturbing and third, the guy on the other line has a British accent! My goodness! Haha. But thank God, I survived that epixtaxis-and-CSF leak-causing situation. Hehe. Just kidding.
Anyways, I am making myself a funny person in this post. I just want to tell you that I already have my schedule for NCLEX. Yes, this is it! There’s no backing out!
Can’t wait to be called a US Registered Nurse before this year ends.
Ohhh.. Love that. It wouldn’t be just Xyla de Vera, BSN, RN. If I pass the exam, it would be Xyla de Vera, BSN, RN, USRN now. Cool! =P

But it’s all good.
By the way, what would be your field specialization po ba? May napupusuan ka na bang area of expertise? Hula ko.. you’ll do good as Nurse Dialysist, OB Nursing and Nurse Anesthesiologist. :)
Kapag may sarili ka ng ospital, wag mo kami kalimutan dito ah? hehe! :)

Wow! Congratulations on that. You were always the student-to-the-letter kind of person. Persistence and prayer will always take you places.
Good luck and may God bless you more. Aja!
