Back to the hospital soon

Yes. You’ve read that right. Despite my excitement to work again in the hospital, the thought of it makes me sad too. Why?

Because I’m going to volunteer in a provincial hospital. Not here in the metro.

Did you ever wonder why despite the achievements I have attained, I’m still jobless? (FYI: I am not bragging.) It’s because of this statement: It’s WHO you know, not WHAT you know. You get what I mean?

My parents are originally based in the province. We transferred here in Metro Manila when I was five years old because of my father’s work. That’s the reason why we barely know people here unlike in the province where we have so many connections.

Why am I saying this? Because I’ve decided to join the it’s-who-you-know bandwagon thing. I told myself before that I am not going to depend on “connections”. Talk about pride. Hehehe. :D But because it’s already 2009 and I really, really  need to get a job, I decided to accept my aunt’s offer in a provincial hospital.

The only thing that makes me sad about it is that I’ll be away from my family  and my boyfriend. :| Although I can travel monthly or weekly since it’s only a 4-to-5 hour ride, it’s still different when you’re here with them.

This is a sacrifice for my so-called craving of professional growth.

Anyways, at least I’m still here in the Philippines and we’re still in the same time zone.

Imagine bru, TJ is just a few hours away from you in case you transfer in the province. Unlike me and Toper that we always considering time zones before we call and 18hours of plane ride just to see each other. LOL

XD ako nga wala pang result ng board, pero nasa health center nako para di naman mapurol agad mga pinag aralan. hehehehe.

hirap talaga makapasok sa medical field dito kung wala ka backer.

That always pisses me off… the idea that it’s not what you know but who you know that matters. It’s not as bad in the US as it is in the Philippines but it applies to some jobs/opportunities here too.
