EENT
I am currently assigned in the EENT ward. So right now, I am adjusting from being busy to being super benign! I met new friends – new set of volunteers. As I’ve mentioned in my previous entry, I extended my contract for a month. Most of the nurses and supervisors ask me why did I have to extend my stay as a volunteer. I told them that I just need to be more productive this summer rather than stay at home and wait for the result of this volunteer thing.
Well, I don’t have any “special” stories to share as of the moment because I don’t find the ward very exciting. Haha! The only thing that I could say is that the supervisor and the staff nurses are really cool. They’re fun to be with. I hope all the employees are like them. Hehe! But if everyone’s nice, then there’s no challenge, right?

My name is Xyla, a 24-year-old Filipina unemployed registered nurse. I am a freelance writer for a nursing magazine of a review center. I aim to be a nurse leader in the future. With only 12 units left in my Master's Degree (Major in Medical-Surgical Nursing), I am ready to teach nursing students. During my past time, I kill Zombies, plant Cherry Bombs, Marigold and Melon Pult and make cheesy stuff for my boyfriend. I firmly justify that I am not too old for Glee-addiction. I hate prepositions. They make my life complicated.

Good luck and again, I admire you for remaining sincere with your occupation even if you’re only volunteering for the time being:)

Me and my ate talked last week about nursing. Like my dad, she is one person that I know that “motivates” me to get a nursing degree. But I told her, nothing’s gonna happen if I don’t have the passion — and what I can see from you, bru, the passion is burningggggg! That’s why I always take you as an example everytime nursing topic comes out. Believe me, my sisters and my mom already knows you. Hahaha.
Have fun in EENT ward. You’ll find more interesting things as days pass by.
Miss you, bru!

I remember scrubbing in an EENT surgical case. The instruments were very new to me. Hah! It went well though.
I hate situations like that. Waiting, nothing challenging to do. That’s why I want to work as an ER, OR, or DR nurse when I pass the board. :)
It’s good that you’re being productive. One of the trainees in Jose Rodriguez reminds me of you. When I see her working I imagine you working like her. She’s assertive and looks so passionate. And you have the same haircut. ;)
