Happy 24th Birthday to me!
Why are there some people who are not proud of announcing their birthdays? Is it bad to announce your birthday? Why are there some people who are in denial of their ages? What is with their ages that they are too shy of telling it?
In my case, when a person asks me when my birthday is I always answer him or her right away. I don’t find anything wrong in telling it. In my opinion, we should be proud of saying when our birthdays are because this is the time when God gave us the chance to live on Earth. There are some babies who die at birth, who were not given the opportunity to live, to see the beauty of life and to experience happiness and failures in life. We are very lucky because we have all the time to explore, to enjoy and to grow.
So yeah, it is my birthday today. Just so you know, I came out from my mom’s womb at exactly 10:20 am, 24 years ago. :) Yey! Happy Birthday to me. :) Happy 24 years of living.
Let me say my gratitude to the following:
Thank you, Lord, for giving me this wonderful life that is full of ups and downs. Thank you for letting me live in this imperfect world.
Thank you, Mama and Papa, for taking good care of me and for raising me up this way. Thank you for giving me Su-Ji, my MSI notebook. Hihi! XD Thank you, Nat1, for the birthday cake that I really wanted: Mango Bravo from Conti’s. Thank you, Stel2, for dropping me off to the FX terminal. Haha! Thanks to my friends and online friends who greeted me in advance. Thanks to my Korean students who wrote good things on my wall and for singing Happy Birthday in Korean. And lastly, thanks to my TJ for everything – from making me cry because of ghosts (Haha!) to making me smile because of your sweet surprises. I love you. :)
Again, happy birthday to me! :) I am really getting old, I know. But who cares? ;)

Goofing around with my Korean students last Friday.

My name is Xyla, a 24-year-old Filipina unemployed registered nurse. I am a freelance writer for a nursing magazine of a review center. I aim to be a nurse leader in the future. With only 12 units left in my Master's Degree (Major in Medical-Surgical Nursing), I am ready to teach nursing students. During my past time, I kill Zombies, plant Cherry Bombs, Marigold and Melon Pult and make cheesy stuff for my boyfriend. I firmly justify that I am not too old for Glee-addiction. I hate prepositions. They make my life complicated.

Happy birthday Xy! :x

I agree we shouldn’t be ashamed of our birthday. :) For me, I’m not and I answer people right away… But sometimes, pag sinasabi mo, it gets attention. I feel shy if that’s the case. :P
Happy Birthday Xyla!

Two possible reasons why a person doesn’t want to announce his/her birthday:
1. He/She looks to old for her age.
2. Walang handa!
Ha ha. Belated Xyla!
